I saw this documentary several years ago... in 2002, I believe. it was in one of my engineering classes in college. and it was facinating. Im not being sarcastic. I just loved it. Ive always loved airplanes and aerospace. and after I saw this PBS documentary on Lockheed Martin and the army, I yearned (yes, yearned) to work for Lockheed Martin.
sadly, life isnt a Cinderella story and I have never been able to work for Lockheed. but I still dream of it and I still fondly remember that documentary. from time to time, I have browsed video stores and the library to see if they had it. I never found it.
until today.
I dont know what I was doing other than mindlessly chit-chatting with a coworker, when suddenly, the name just popped into my head. Battle of the X-Planes. I jumped on the Internet and rushed to the librarys website. low and behold... they had it!! be still my heart. my library has two copies on the shelf right now. I put one on hold, just in case some Battle of the X-Planes fans rush the library between now and whenever I can get there.
now, if anyone knows the name of a childrens book about a girl and a boy (prolly brother and sister) who either run away or are kidnapped and held in a home where the two male kidnappers watch over them and the cover of the book is a house with either a door open or a window open and a light pours through the opening... then I will have everything that I have spent years searching for... (no joke, my mom read me this book when I was in 1st grade and I have never been able to find it. Ive spent HOURS Googling, too.)
